This kiln is an anagama/ noborigama hybrid kiln. It has a long tube that steps up in the interior, creating a slope for the fire to climb, and a back chamber. The chimney runs underground and then up. The kiln was built by master potter Takao Okazaki in 1996 is approximately 35 feet long (exterior) and 4 feet wide on the interior.
